Low-income, disabled, limited English Speaking and Elderly taxpayers can get free Tax Preparation and Electronic filing help at the India Community Center (ICC) with personal income tax returns.  Returns for prior years, and for amending previously filed returns will also  be prepared if the software and qualified volunteers are present.

Tax preparation services are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays Feb 2 - April 14, 2010 6 - 9 pm  at the ICC, 525 Los Coches St, Milpitas, Ca 95035.  Sign-up lists will be available at the front desk at 5:00 pm on those days.  Taxpayers (and spouses) need to bring their Social Security Cards, picture ID, and W-2s, and 1099 forms and the Social Security cards of their dependents.  Taxpayers must be physically present for their returns to be completed.

In compliance with Federal Title VI rights, services are available regardless of racial background or national origin as long as they are within the scope of  VITA training.

This new VITA @ ICC site is staffed by IRS Certified VITA/TCE Volunteer Preparers. The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program is sponsored by the IRS and the CA FTB in conjunction with various Community Partners.
