The Forum@ICC focuses on discussions in different fields. We have hosted speakers like Shashi Tharoor, Shankar Bajpai, Jaswant Singh, William Dalrymple, Gurcharan Das, Ambassador Ronen Sen and even the former Indian president Abdul Kalam. We have also had academics from Stanford University, the Hoover Institute and UC Berkeley grace our podium.
Topics included current affairs, international relations and trade, Indian culture, civilization and history, and general social issues that cut across different topics such as poverty alleviation, health, education and infrastructure.
We have partnerships with local institutions such as Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz and other organizations like the Asia Society and the World Affairs Council. All of them have a deep commitment to South Asia and often have exceptionally interesting speakers.
By developing a vigorous discourse about Indian affairs, we hope that a larger, national voice will arise. For over two generations, Indians have contributed substantially to the wealth, scientific knowledge, and technological progress of the U.S. and the rest of the world. Now is the opportunity to highlight the deep cultural continuities and values that compose the Indian spirit.
The question we seek to answer is how can the ICC contribute to questions such as the nature of globalization and the role of different points of view in shaping answers across various domains, fields and functions?
