Financial Literacy Program at ICC

ICC is pleased to host free education and literacy program for its member community. Classes are conducted every Tuesday & Wednesday. (Wednesday sessions are repeat sessions of Tuesday's morning sessions) 

 You will learn:

1. Learn why Costco is able to succeed and able to defend its business against competition from Amazon while Macy's, Nordstrom, Bed Bath & Beyond, and JC Penny are struggling. 

 

2. Learn why Berkshire Hathaway prefers to buy businesses that make Chocolates and Ice Cream (See's Candy's and Diary Queen) as well as Jewelry companies (Brosheim's Fine Jewelry and Helzberg Diamonds) vs the latest high tech gadget company such as GoPro or Fitbit or SNAPchat.

 

 

3. Prudent choices for generating fixed income and capital growth and many more investment topics

About Bala Joshi

 

 

Mr. Bala Joshi was a Director at Intel Corporation and was Vice President at Fujitsu Corporation and a Manager at Sun Microsystems prior to that. He led development of advanced Microprocessor (Computer brains) developments for over 28 years. Mr. Joshi Served on the Board of the India Community Center for ten years and is a Past President of the Board.

Mr. Joshi holds an executive MBA from Stanford University and MSEE (Hons) from University of Massachusetts.  During the last three years, Mr. Joshi has been teaching MATH and Science to grade 6 – grade 12 students in the bay area.
